Project summary
The Fundación Acción Dibal is collaborating with ALBOAN and its local partner, the Chennai Jesuit Province, on a project aimed at strengthening access to higher education in rural areas of the state of Tamil Nadu, in southern India. The initiative involves the construction of three new classrooms at the Loyola College of Arts and Sciences in Olaipadi, a centre that provides education to young people from around 150 rural villages, many of whom belong to Dalit communities and other traditionally marginalised groups.
The project aims to reduce the economic and geographical barriers that hinder access to higher education, creating a learning environment where students can develop their skills and improve their future prospects. This initiative helps to break the cycles of poverty and exclusion, driving the social and economic development of one of India’s most disadvantaged rural regions.
